Earlier, as many as 300 Newegg customers complained that they received counterfeit processors, whereby the processors that they got were cleverly fake, in order to fool them into believing that they are genuine Intel Core i7-920 processors. Basically, Newegg initially claimed that these processors were ‘demo units’, but when the heat was turned up by these disgruntled customers, Newegg is now saying that it was their supplier who supplied these fake chips to them.
Generally, Newegg has also disclosed in their Facebook that they have terminated the contract for the respective supplier. Personally, I think that someone is trying to capitalize on these fake processors. Surely, selling fake processors to a bunch of tech-savvy people, wasn’t really a wise move, after all.
