With all the hype generated by tech sites, it seems that the PSPgo has lower than expected pre-orders in the UK market. Personally, I believe that the pricing scheme might be the culprit as the PSPgo is indeed priced considerably higher when compared to the PSP.
Currently, UK gamers are paying approximately £100 (about $165 US) for a brand new PSP, which already has very good features. And to purchase the latest PSPgo, it will cost UK consumers approximately £230 ($370 US) to get one. That’s 2.3 times more expensive when compared to the ‘old’ PSP.
Sony might be digging their own grave here. The PSPgo is scheduled for a nationwide launch in October.
