Since the price of high quality wood has increased steadily over time, the cost to build boats using wood has increased tremendously. With the increase in the price of wood, this has made wood a less desirable material to be used to construct modern day boats. As you can see, most of the modern day boats are constructed from highly durable plastic materials, whereby these plastics are resistant to corrosion, has water-proof features, and has similar floating ability, just like wood. And if you are wondering on the type of plastic which is used to construct boats, it’s called starboard plastic. Generally, starboard plastic has similar properties like wood, whereby you can even work with this particular material, with common wood tools. Also, you can even clean starboard plastic with common cleaners in the market. Of course, if you are searching for a viable alternative material to construct boats or even to be used in your wood construction projects, I’m sure you’ll like working with starboard plastic. And since this particular material is a type of plastic, I’m sure that the cost to purchase starboard plastic might be generally lower when compared to high quality wood in the market. If you are thinking of constructing a boat, perhaps you should try using starboard plastic instead?
